I like it. Helped in Montreal even though they speak a different French. Audio is good to learn but she talks fast. Only negative is that I wish it had the phenetic spelling under the actual spelling so you could learn to sound it out. It is not a word to word translator, so dont buy it for that. Good work on the phrases, there are many and some are hilarious.

I have the French version. Phrases are very colloquial and useful, and the voice, notwithstanding the somewhat rough audio quality, is representative of real, native speech. Nice to have the ability to slow it down or speed it up. To be truly great, this app needs to add categories and phrases. Maybe I fall outside the target audience, but there are lots of travelers and expats that are not looking to pick up a date everytime they head out the door. Beyond the most rudimentary phrases, half the categories are dedicated to "flirting" and "insults". I suggest the developers reach beyond the 14-24 demographic in future versions and try adding categories for sports, the weather, jobs, hobbies, kids, real estate, computing, movies, geography, the environment... you know, stuff adults talk about once they actually have a date or - imagine - are married with kids! Anyway, a very good version 1. Keep the phrases and categories coming and bump up the sound quality for a real winner.

This is a lot of fun. My husband and I ate planing our trip to Italy and France the next month, so we decided to use Lingopal to learn and practice basic conversations. This is an easy, quick and fun way to learn other language. A lot if fun. Highly recommend it. Alta
